Self taught US pianist from a musical family, Jimmy was a first generation boogie-woogie player. By the tender age of 15 he was influencing other artists such as Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Here is his classic Yancey Stomp:
