This classically trained American pianist launched her career in 1945 by releasing a good number of original boogie-woogie records. Like her contemporary Hazel Scott, Hadda had her own TV show for a time and also appeared in a number of films. Dubbed ‘Queen of the Boogie’, here’s her first record, Swingin’ the Boogie, from 1945:
